Voice Actor and World Adventurer

When I was in my 20s, I fulfilled my childhood dream of traveling around the world. I took graduate-level courses in Hong Kong, watched whale sharks in Okinawa, explored bazaars in Tibet and even pet a panda in Chengdu. 

With my wanderlust satisfied, I set my sights on a new ambition: becoming a voice actor and director for English dubbed anime and donghua! I intend to utilize both my foreign language skills and global experiences to create iconic performances and bring wonderful animated stories to new audiences.

Here’s a statue from the 798 Art District (798艺术区) in Beijing, China. In the early 2000s, various local artists took an abandoned military-industrial complex, and converted it into an art space. The outsides of the factories were decorated with graffiti art and murals, while the insides became exhibition halls and cafes. There are even some collaborations with international artists. Like Wudaokao, this place to be a prime example of youth culture in 2010s China. Locals and expats alike were all flocking to Beijing to be apart of the global cultural shift. China was becoming the next world power, and everyone wanted a front row seat to the action. Wild parties were thrown. Small businesses were starting up. Friendships were made. It felt like anything was possible back then. Sometimes I wonder if that excitement was the same thing that the pioneers felt in the days of the Wild West.
